There is an easy way to have the SSGWPE to start up automatically whenever Vasuntu is booted up.
From the desktop interface, click System->Preferences->Sessions. You are presented with a “Sessions” window. The first tab has “Startup Programs”. Click on “New” button to add a new startup program. In the window enter the following:

The configuration file for the Skype Sip Gateway (Personal Edition), SSGWPE, is stored under the home directory/.skypegw.
The file is named skypegw.xml. This file is updated when you make changes via the user interface of the SSGWPE. If the file is corrupted, SSGWPE may fail to start.
